GARAGE PROJECT SLOWING DOWN A BIT

The project is still going ahead but the jobs that need to be done now have waiting times in between and we’re also working with other sub-contractors who are busy at this time of year.  These are the major happenings on the project work days:

Day 13  Concrete floor poured inside

Day 14  Prep for the outside concrete pour

Day 15  Concrete pour outside and back step

Day 16  Electrical work started, windows and doors installed

Day 17  Outside trim around doors and windows.  I had to fill nail holes and paint a second coat after they were up.

Day 18  More electrical work, conduit for wire to breaker box in basement

Day 19  Insulation—very pink

Day 20  Vinyl siding first day

Day 21  Vinyl siding second day—all done!

While all this work was going on, we also kept ourselves busy with our own projects and took some time off to play golf and make a trip to Colville, WA.  I’ll share our projects with you after the garage is finished, hopefully in another week or so.

  1. looks done to me, amazing how many steps are required to finish a garage. I'm impressed by how seamlessly is blends with the house.

Living Large Defined

After retiring from the BC Forest Service, selling their home in Kamloops and living at "no fixed address" for 10 months, Linda and Stuart bought a house in Grand Forks. They are now embracing life in this small community as well as Snowbirding south for the winter and are living "larger" than their dreams. This is Linda's blog of their adventures.
