GARAGE PROJECT IN FULL SWING

The project is moving along very smoothly and there is something happening every day of the work week.  Each morning around 7:30 the crew starts arriving and we’re becoming used to having the guys around most of the day.  We are sticking close to home while they’re here as there are questions and decisions to be made.

Day 6  Pouring the foundation

Day 7  Removing the foundation forms

Day 8  Backfilling the foundation

Day 9  Framing and sheeting

Day 10  Putting up the trusses and sheeting the roof  (they slide the bundle of trusses off the trailer using rollers—very efficient)

Day 11  Laying the rebar for the new concrete slab

Day 12  Roofing  (had some major rain showers to interrupt the job but they got it done)

So on Monday, they pour the concrete inside the garage and the work continues.

Living Large Defined

After retiring from the BC Forest Service, selling their home in Kamloops and living at "no fixed address" for 10 months, Linda and Stuart bought a house in Grand Forks. They are now embracing life in this small community as well as Snowbirding south for the winter and are living "larger" than their dreams. This is Linda's blog of their adventures.
