THE WALKWAY IS DONE

We spent most of last week working on the walkway and we’re really happy with the result.  The best way to describe the project is with photos so here we go.

Old walkway

Digging out the new walkway area

Unloading the pavers (we bought them in Spokane, Washington at half the Canadian price)

Getting gravel

Filling the hole with gravel

Packing the gravel base (multiple layers - each one packed)

Working on the sand layer

First pavers

Starting to take shape

Putting in the edging

Keeping them level

Nearing the end

The last stone

The last stone in - Done

Finished walkway

We have never worked with pavers before and it was great to learn how to work with them and to develop new skills.  This completes all our planned major outdoor projects for the season.  Now we have more time for fishing, golf and other things and here is the 3 lb. 19 inch long rainbow trout that Stuart caught on Monday.

Living Large Defined

After retiring from the BC Forest Service, selling their home in Kamloops and living at "no fixed address" for 10 months, Linda and Stuart bought a house in Grand Forks. They are now embracing life in this small community as well as Snowbirding south for the winter and are living "larger" than their dreams. This is Linda's blog of their adventures.
