A LOVELY GARDEN WEDDING

Stuart’s daughter got married a couple of weeks ago in Aldergrove and it was truly a lovely garden wedding.  She and her fiancée spent months working on their yard to create the setting which included a pond with a waterfall.  Since it was an outdoor ceremony, the weather was a big factor in the success of the event and it turned out to be a fine day.  It was cloudy with sunny periods but there was NO RAIN which is amazing since it’s been a rainy summer in that area.

The ceremony started with a bagpiper leading in the bride’s entourage.

It was a fairly large group as it included a maid of honour, three bridesmaids and two ring bearers (their twin boys).

All went well with the exchanging of vows and rings and then there was time for photos and visiting before the reception.

The bride’s dress was made by her aunt (Stuart’s sister) and the bride’s corsage and all the bridal party flowers were beaded by the bride’s new mother-in-law.  What an amazing amount of work.

The reception was held at a hall in Abbotsford that was nicely decorated and the wedding supper was laid out buffet style.  Friends of the bridge and groom worked hard to serve the guests and make it a truly fun event.  There were speeches and funny stories and it was great to see how well loved the couple is by their friends and family.  The wedding cakes were made by the mother of the bride and presented in a lovely cascading display.

We didn’t stay very late in the evening but we could tell that it was going to be a really great rocking time for the rest of the night.  The newlyweds were going on their honeymoon at Harrison Lake later in the week so they had time to settle down after the wedding.  We headed home the next day with many good memories.

Living Large Defined

After retiring from the BC Forest Service, selling their home in Kamloops and living at "no fixed address" for 10 months, Linda and Stuart bought a house in Grand Forks. They are now embracing life in this small community as well as Snowbirding south for the winter and are living "larger" than their dreams. This is Linda's blog of their adventures.
