The rains in the past few months have paid off in beautiful
blooming of the desert plants. We’ve taken
a couple of hiking trips with friends and enjoyed the scenery, fresh air,
exercise and good company.
The first hikes were at Lake Pleasant which is a man made
lake northeast of Surprise.
Our most recent hike was at Estrella Mountain Regional Park
which is south of Surprise on the south side of I 10. We went early in the day to stay cool and we
only met a few mountain bikers on the trails.
However, we did meet a rattlesnake which was exciting.
The blossoming cacti are amazing along with all the hardy
desert flowers.
Now the packing up begins in earnest as we are heading out
on Tuesday.
