STILL IN PALM SPRINGS

We played more golf in week one and enjoyed our round at Palm Desert Resort course.  It had wide fairways and a few holes with big water to avoid.  We started after 12:30 and it was a slow round and we just finished at dusk.

On Saturday, we packed up and moved to the Welk Resort in Cathedral City.  We had to spend a few hours doing other things before check-in and went to the Street Fair at the College of the Desert.  This event is held every Saturday and Sunday and is very popular with visitors and locals.

This resort is very different from our first rental, although each one has its benefits.

We golfed again with friends and did more shopping.

On Wednesday, we rode the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway and did some hiking at the top of the mountain.

The elevation there is 8500 feet so you notice the thinner air and it was cool at 8 C.  We spent a couple of hours up there and would recommend the trip to anyone visiting the area.

Today is our last day here and we are going hiking on a loop trail a few kilometres from here.  It’s best to hike early as the daytime temperatures are getting up to 30 C which is about 6 degrees warmer than the average.

CHURCH ON SUNDAY AT THE FAMOUS MARY PICKFORD THEATRE

It’s been a great getaway and we are looking forward to going back to the RV and enjoying the rest of our time down south.

Living Large Defined

After retiring from the BC Forest Service, selling their home in Kamloops and living at "no fixed address" for 10 months, Linda and Stuart bought a house in Grand Forks. They are now embracing life in this small community as well as Snowbirding south for the winter and are living "larger" than their dreams. This is Linda's blog of their adventures.
