MERRY CHRISTMAS

Even though the signs of Christmas are all around us, it still doesn’t feel quite real for us.  Through decades of life we have become accustomed to snowy winters, so clear skies and warm temperatures just don’t fit the season.  But that’s okay, Christmas will soon be here regardless of our feelings.

I’m happy to report that my fractures are healing well and a few days ago, I was able to start putting weight on my leg.  I had to purchase a hinged and lockable knee brace and a quad cane for walking.  Better than a wheeled walker!!  Here’s what the setup looks like.

Today I walked up and down the RV steps which is a big event for me.  I am not being too adventurous until I have my first physio therapy session on Dec 21 and hope to find out how much more I could be doing.  I’m supposed to keep my arm in a sling until then, too, but I have been taking some liberties with that.  I struggle with confinement.

NO MORE RAMPS OR CARDBOARD TO SLIDE ON

We’ve only been to 2 movies since the last post.  “Fantastic Beasts…” was good, a little slow while they set the stage but the last half and special effects throughout were great.  Earlier this week, we saw “Miss Sloane” and it was surprisingly good.  We usually prefer action movies but there wasn’t a lot of choice.  Next week will be the Star Wars movie.

This year, for the first time, we sent out e-cards for Christmas rather than paper and postage and we have to admit, it was very convenient.  For anyone who misses the Christmas letter, they can read the blog which tells the stories anyway.

The outside lights are up, the tree will be going up this week and the last online gift should arrive tomorrow.  I’ve tracked it from Rhode Island to Connecticut to Virginia to Tennessee to Oklahoma and to Phoenix yesterday.  It’s not easy to have surprises for Christmas down here.

We wish you a peaceful and wonderful Christmas and a blessed New Year!!

Living Large Defined

After retiring from the BC Forest Service, selling their home in Kamloops and living at "no fixed address" for 10 months, Linda and Stuart bought a house in Grand Forks. They are now embracing life in this small community as well as Snowbirding south for the winter and are living "larger" than their dreams. This is Linda's blog of their adventures.
