ALL SETTLED IN

It took a while but we eventually cleaned up the mess and found suitable locations for all the stuff.

WASHING THE ROOF

The upstairs of the shed is used for storage of travel boxes, Christmas decorations and things that we don’t need very often.  The floor level of the shed houses all of Stuart’s tools, dry goods, laundry and cleaning supplies and sports stuff.  There is a computer desk beside the fridge which will be nice to use when I do crafts.

We’ve filled up all those cupboards for now, and outside we’ve set up tables near the laundry sink to create an L shaped outdoor kitchen.  We have the BBQ, tabletop oven, slow cooker and single hot plate out there and have used all of them at least once.  The weather has been very warm so we’ve been spending plenty of time outdoors.

We still keep moving patio chairs and tables around, depending on what we’re doing and where the sun is shining.  It is quite private in the patio area and so far, we don’t have any noisy (or nosy) neighbours.

The super moon on Sunday was spectacular here with the clear skies and even the city lights didn’t detract too much from the clarity.  Stuart went out with the camera and took some amazing photos.

We played a bit of pickleball and billiards but have been doing other things as part of the settling in process.  Stocking up the fridge and pantry takes a few shopping trips and we decided that we wanted to see a couple of movies before they “time out” at the theatre.  We’ve seen “Never Go Back”, “Dr. Strange” and “The Accountant.”  They were all good, really enjoyed The Accountant.

About 3 years ago, we purchased a new mattress for the RV and it was starting to dip and sag and was becoming uncomfortable.  We contacted the company who made it for us and they said that we could bring it in and they would rebuild it or give us a credit toward the purchase of a better one.  We opted for a new one and picked a latex mattress with encased coil springs and it is much more comfortable.  It also sits 15 inches high and is heavier.  We had some help getting it into the RV and then Stuart and I muscled it into place.  It is great, we love it.

That’s it for now.

Living Large Defined

After retiring from the BC Forest Service, selling their home in Kamloops and living at "no fixed address" for 10 months, Linda and Stuart bought a house in Grand Forks. They are now embracing life in this small community as well as Snowbirding south for the winter and are living "larger" than their dreams. This is Linda's blog of their adventures.
