HOME AGAIN

We arrived home on April 1 and the trip was quick this year and it all went well.  We drove to Las Vegas the first day and stayed in the north east part of town which set us up for a quick getaway the next morning.  The weather was clear and sunny and we drove to Angel Lake RV Park in Wells, NV where we have stayed before.  However, this time it wasn't snowing or really cold which was a real treat.  We left the truck and trailer hooked up for the night.

We were off again early the next day as the forecast was for wind and rain later in the day.  It did get windy along the way but it was a tail wind that didn’t affect us very much.  We decided to push on through the high country in Oregon and stop for the night at the Wild Horse Casino RV Park east of Pendleton.  It was a long drive that day, 741 kilometres and the last section was in rain and fog through Deadman’s Pass and down Cabbage Hill.  It was my turn to drive on that section so I had to deal with the poor conditions and it certainly was a test of concentration.  Glad we didn’t have any snow.  Here are a couple of photos:

The next day, we headed for home and had a side wind to start with and then a really strong tail wind.  Not bad while towing but when we got out at the rest area near Spokane, it was blowing so hard it was a struggle to walk against the wind.  We crossed the Canadian border in the early afternoon and it took us less than 4 minutes to declare what we had purchased and then we were waved through with no hassles.  We sure like our small border crossing.

All was well at home and we took 2 days to get everything unloaded and the trailer parked by the shop again.  It felt really strange to be there the first day, but then it all started to feel familiar and comfortable.  I love my dishwasher and my own laundry room!

So the winter season ends for us and now we can get going on all the fun spring projects.  Stay tuned.

Living Large Defined

After retiring from the BC Forest Service, selling their home in Kamloops and living at "no fixed address" for 10 months, Linda and Stuart bought a house in Grand Forks. They are now embracing life in this small community as well as Snowbirding south for the winter and are living "larger" than their dreams. This is Linda's blog of their adventures.
