We set out from home
yesterday morning at 8 a.m. and had a quick border crossing. It only took 7 minutes and the agent checked
inside the rig looking for contraband and prohibited produce (peppers,
tomatoes, potatoes and unidentified apples).
Our apples didn’t have stickers but he let us keep them anyway.
Stuart drove first and the
drive through Spokane
was a bit slow with Saturday morning traffic, but once we hit I 90 we made good
time. We switched driving once and travelled
all the way to Hermiston , Oregon
which is just south of the Columbia
River, north of I-84 and 45 minutes west of Pendleton. The RV park was nice for an overnight and it
was quite warm at 21 degrees.

We headed out at 8:22 this
morning and drove all the way to Mountain Home , Idaho about 35 miles south east of Boise .
Again, we have a nice RV park for the night and this would be a good place
to spend a couple of days if we had more time and the promise of good
weather. It was sunny here and the
afternoon temperature was 24 so we sat out in the sun for a while after all our
“set up” chores.

We’re headed to Ely , Nevada
tomorrow. It should be sunny but will
probably be cold at night, down to freezing or maybe below. That’s our one cold stop and then it’s home
free to Boulder City the next day. It’s all good so far.
