NO SHORTAGE OF THINGS TO DO

The Burger Bash on Saturday was a success with a few hundred people there and Stuart was busy working there for about 4 hours including the prep and the serving time.  After that orientation day for him, he has been promoted to grill chef this coming Saturday.  Hopefully, I will get some photos of the event to share with you.

We attended in the pancake breakfast last week and met more people, again lots from BC and Canada.  Canadians are the majority here at the resort—makes the US people feel quite outnumbered.  The amount of activities here is just amazing with something going on every day—group exercises in the mornings, yoga, pilates, Zumba (latin style dancing done for exercise), shuffleboard, crafts, pottery, billiards in the evening, Karaoke contests weekly, dances on Thursday nights, entertainment on Friday or Saturday nights, ice cream socials on Sunday.  If you get involved in all that, there is no time to relax or write a blog!!

COURTYARD AT THE PALMS RV RESORT

FRUIT AND VEGGIE VENDORS

Pickleball is back on our activity list even though there isn’t any here at the resort.  We found a pickleball drop-in session at the Yuma Readiness Center (Rec Center) on Monday to Friday from 10 to noon and have attended a couple of times.  There are 4 indoor courts and they are busy the whole time with about 35 players on average wanting to play.  We are able to get 5 or 6 games during the time allotment and it is still lots of fun.  Playing indoors takes some getting used to as the ball is harder to see against the white floor but at least there isn’t any wind to affect the flight of the ball.

The weather is slowly warming up and we hope to get back to playing golf in the next few weeks.

Living Large Defined

After retiring from the BC Forest Service, selling their home in Kamloops and living at "no fixed address" for 10 months, Linda and Stuart bought a house in Grand Forks. They are now embracing life in this small community as well as Snowbirding south for the winter and are living "larger" than their dreams. This is Linda's blog of their adventures.
